Accessibility
Open to everyone.
The Centre for Climate Action, Innovation and Engagement, CCAIE, is committed to making its website accessible and usable for all visitors, including people using assistive technologies.
Conformance statement
This website conforms to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Conformance was assessed on 17 August 2026 across all public pages of the site, including the home page, About, Our Work and each flagship programme page, Evidence & Impact, Events, News & Media, Partnerships, Contact, Donate, the Climate-Safe Schools Expression of Interest form, and these Privacy and Accessibility policies.
Testing combined automated auditing with the axe-core accessibility engine, configured for the WCAG 2.0 A/AA and WCAG 2.1 A/AA success-criteria rule sets, with manual review of keyboard navigation, focus order, heading structure, landmark regions, form labelling and image alternative text. Every page returned zero violations at the time of assessment.
- Standard: WCAG 2.1, Level AA (W3C Recommendation)
- Conformance status: Fully conformant across all public pages assessed
- Assessment method: Automated axe-core auditing plus manual keyboard and screen-reader structure review
- Date of assessment: 17 August 2026
- Scope: All public pages of ccaie.org on desktop and mobile viewports
Fully conformant means that the content assessed meets all applicable Level A and Level AA success criteria without exceptions. New content is reviewed against the same standard before publication.
Our accessibility commitment
CCAIE aims to provide a website experience that is clear, readable, navigable, and accessible across devices. The site is built and maintained to WCAG 2.1 Level AA and we continue to improve usability for visitors with different access needs.
Accessibility features we support
Across the site we provide:
- Readable text meeting the 4.5:1 minimum contrast ratio for body text and 3:1 for large text and interface components
- Keyboard navigability
- Visible focus states
- Descriptive link text
- Alt text for meaningful images, charts and data graphics, and empty alt text for decorative imagery
- Form labels and clear form instructions
- Responsive layouts for mobile and tablet
- Accessible buttons, links, and CTAs
- Semantic landmarks and a single, logical heading hierarchy on each page
We also work to use a readable page structure with clear headings, sections, and spacing.
Ongoing improvements
Accessibility is an ongoing process. As CCAIE updates its website, programs, forms, media, and resources, we continue to review pages and improve accessibility where issues are identified.
Known limitations
The pages assessed contain no known conformance failures. Third-party content, external links and embedded media hosted by other organisations fall outside our control and may not meet the same standard; CCAIE will review and improve these items where possible.
